Eliud Kipchoge wins Delhi Half Marathon

Kenya’s Olympic marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge on Sunday won the 2016 Airtel Delhi Half Marathon leading compatriot Augustine Choge also to a podium finish in New Delhi, India.
Kipchoge clocked 59 minutes and 44 seconds to reclaim the title Kenya won last in 2012. The win comes just three months after Kipchoge won the country its second marathon gold at the Olympics during the Rio Summer Games.

Marathon runner Noguchi ready to announce retirement

Mizuki Noguchi, the winner of the women’s marathon gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics, has decided to retire, athletics sources said Thursday.
The 37-year-old Noguchi, who failed to qualify for this summer’s Rio de Janeiro Olympics after finishing 23rd at the Nagoya Women’s Marathon last month, is set to officially announce her decision at a news conference on Friday, according to the sources.

HARRISON FLIES TO 12.36 IN FIRST 100M HURDLES RACE OF THE YEAR

IAAF World Indoor Championships 60m hurdles finalist Kendra Harrison opened her 2016 outdoor season in stunning fashion by clocking 12.36 for the 100m hurdles at the Spec Towns Invitational meeting in Athens, USA, on Friday (9).
Aided by a 1.4 metres-per-second breeze on her back, the 23-year-old Harrison not only took 0.14 off her personal best but her time on the University of Georgia track elevated her to equal-ninth on the world all-time list and makes her the fifth fastest American ever.
